CLASSROOM RULES
#1. Arrive on Time and With All Needed Materials.
#2. Use Respectful, Positive, School-Appropriate Language.
#3. Keep your Hands, Feet, and Objects to Yourself.
#4. Stay on Task During All Work Times.
#5. Keep Your Area Clean and Organized.
CONSEQUENCES & DISCIPLINE
Our main goal as your child’s teachers is to provide a safe and undisrupted environment for optimal learning. It is also our intent to build a community of learners. If the class rules are not followed a progressive set of consequences will occur. The consequences are as follows:
IF A STUDENT CHOOSES TO BREAK A RULE...
Tier 1:
* First Time: Teacher Re-Direction (Warning)
* Second Time: One Check on Behavior Clipboard (Behavior Code Indicated
* Third Time: Two Checks on Behavior Clipboard (Behavior Code Indicated)
* Fourth Time: Three Checks (Behavior Code indicated); 30-Minute Detention Served After-School (Wednesdays). Parents are notified*
Tier 2:
* Misbehavior continues to be exhibited after detention is issued and parents are notified- Checks continue.
* Behavior Contract (Parent Signature)*
* Parent-Teacher-Student Discussion/Conference
Tier 3:
* Office Referral. Parents are notified.
* Parent-Teacher-Student-Administrator Conference (*if needed)

** Checks are “erased” from the clipboard each day. Every day is a new day, a clean slate! However, checks are kept as a record of behavior should specific misbehaviors become chronic.
** Parents will be notified of the date a detention will be served and the reason for the detention.
** SEVERE DISRUPTIONS: If a student chooses to exhibit severe behavior (physical fighting, inappropriate language, hostile defiance, etc.), that students will skip Tiers 1 and 2 and will be immediately sent to Ms. Neal in order to be given consequences per the CPS Code of Conduct.
** STUDENTS: Please note that I said when you “choose” to break a rule. No one else in the classroom can make you break a rule. It is always your choice.
